    The fight for influence in the South Caucasus - What role for the EU?

    The Eurasia Partnership Foundation (EPF), in cooperation with the European Policy Centre and the Robert Bosch Foundation held an international seminar about the EU’s role in the South Caucasus in Brussels, Belgium on 14 December 2011. The linked report by the European Policy Centre summarises the event's results.

    The EU's role in the South Caucasus – a report by the European Policy Centre

    The linked report summarises the views of Philippe Lefort, the EU’s Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia, as well as those of Bulgarian MEP Evgeni Kirilov, who drafted a European Parliament report on the South Caucasus, and of Dennis Sammut, executive director of the London Information Network on Conflicts and State-Building. The European Policy Centre (EPC) is an independent, not-for-profit think tank. Members of the EPC comprise companies, professional and business federations, trade unions, diplomatic missions, regional and local bodies, as well as NGOs.

    Latvian Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis and Prime Minister of Georgia, Nika Gilauri, Emphasize the Necessity to Strengthen Economic Co-operation

    On September 16, Latvian Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis held a meeting with the Prime Minister of Georgia, Nika Gilauri during his official visit to Latvia. During the visit, the heads of Governments recognized the development of political relations of Latvia and Georgia in both, bilateral and multilateral co-operation forms.

    Information Day on S&T cooperation in Tiblisi attracts 150 participants

    On 19 of June 2009 the Georgia National Science Foundation (GNSF) organized an Information Day in Tbilisi with the purpose to develop the international S&T cooperation within the EU 7th Framework Programme (FP7) in the thematic priority Environment as wells in FP7 People programme.

    A web-portal of the International Association of Academies of Sciences is opened

    International Association of Academies of Sciences is the international non-governmental organization created in 1993 in Kiev by representatives of the national academies of sciences of 15 states of Europe and Asia with the purpose of joining efforts for decision of major scientific problems and creating new partnerships between researchers. Now its web-portal is available at www.iaas.de
