    BILAT-UKR*AINA projects completes its activities

    Today is the last day of the BILAT-UKR*AINA project (Enhancing the BILATeral S&T Partnership with UKRraine * Advanced INnovative Approach), which has supported research, technology and innovation cooperation between the EU and Ukraine since 2012. The project was based on existing cooperation of the main stakeholders and built up on the results of previous projects funded under FP7 dealing with Ukraine, in particular BILAT-UKR (2008-2012).

    Council of the EU adopts Conclusions on the EU Strategy for Central Asia

    Considering Central Asia as a region of strategic importance, the European Union has committed to establish a strong, durable and stable relationship with the five Central Asian countries. Eight years after the adoption of the Central Asia Strategy, the Council welcomes the substantial progress achieved in developing the EU's relations with Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan as well as with the Central Asian region as a whole.

    IncoNet EaP sessions on 'Bioremediation' and 'Phytoremediation' at the 6th European Bioremediation Conference

    Two specialised sessions on 'Bioremediation' and 'Phytoremediation' will be organised by the IncoNet EaP project in the frame of the '6th European Bioremediation Conference' on 2 July 2015. These sessions are organised by the Institute of Fundamental Technological Research Polish Academy of Sciences (IPPT-PAN) on behalf of the IncoNet EaP project.

    A webinar on 'Individual Fellowships' under the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) programme on 7 July (2pm CEST) will be the 2nd in a series of 15 Black Sea Horizon project webinars providing information and good practices about Horizon 2020 in general and on specific calls launched thereunder in particular with potential for bi-regional cooperation. The goal of the webinars is to promote and enhance the participation of researchers from academia and industry from the Black Sea countries in Horizon 2020.

    Ukraine Biorisk Management Enhancement Grant Competition

    The Biorisk Management Enhancement Grant (BMEG) competition program aims to improve biosecurity, biosafety and biorisk management procedures and knowledge. It strives to increase biorisk management awareness and its importance in safeguarding science in the Ukraine. Grant awards, each up to $15,000 USD, will be made in support of projects that must be completed within six months from the date a project agreement is signed.

    DFG-RSF Cooperation: Possibility for Joint German-Russian Project Proposals in Physics and Mathematics

    To facilitate the support of collaborative work between German and Russian research groups, the Physics and Mathematics Division of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG, German Research Foundation) and the Russian Science Foundation (RSF) have opened the possibility for joint German-Russian project proposals in the field of physics and mathematics (themes falling in the responsibility of the elected grant committees (Fachkollegien) 307–312).

    EaPConnect – Connecting the Education and Research Communities in the EU's Eastern Neighbourhood

    The launch of the EaPConnect project was explicitly welcomed by the Participants of the Eastern Partnership Summit ind Riga, which took place  on 21-22 May 2015. The project sets out to create a regional research and education (R&E) network in Eastern Europe and the Southern Caucasus. This will interconnect the national R&E network (NRENs) in six Eastern Partnership countries and integrate them into the pan-European GÉANT network. The partner countries are Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.
