Information Exchange in Science and Technology between the European Research Area and Eastern European / Central Asian Countries

incrEAST is an information platform designed to:

- intensify international cooperation in science and technology
- facilitate the networking of research organisations and institutions in the countries of Eastern Europe/ Central Asia (EECA) and the European Union, and
- promote scientific dialogue between EECA countries and EU Member States.

incrEAST provides:

- detailed and up-to-date information about the political development of research and technology in the target countries,
- information about collaborative projects, programmes and partner organisations, as well as about potential Host Institutions in EECA countries for EU researchers
- contact information for local experts

The platform is geared towards researchers, developers and scientists who are interested in carrying out cross-border research projects, gaining experience in cooperating with the European Union, and conducting further research on the results of joint projects. incrEAST is also aimed at decision-makers in politics and in the private sector.

  Project of the Month: ACQWA

  The goal of the ACQWA project (Assessing Climate impacts on the Quality and the quantity of WAter) is to quantify how water resources in vulnerable mountain regions, particularly those where snow and ice is a major control on runoff, may change in a warming climate. The project further aims to assess how shifts in water amount and seasonality may affect key economic actors such as agriculture, energy, tourism or mining, and how potential rivalries between these actors may be alleviated through improved water governance.
