incrEAST is a one-stop information platform for scientists, research organisations, policy stakeholders, and companies from the EU Member States | Associated Countries and from the Eastern Partnership Countries, Central Asia, and Russia who are (or want to become) active in international science, technology and innovation cooperation between these regions.

    Two new 'Sustainable Energy Information Centres' open in Moldova and Georgia

    The inauguration ceremony of the Moldova Sustainable Energy Information Centre took place on 15 April 2016. Housed in the Moldovan Agency of Energy Efficiency, the Chisinau Sustainable Energy Information Centre will serve as a hub for a number of initiatives by NGOs, businesses and education institutes. The Sustainable Energy Information Centre (SEIC) in Georgia opened on 22 April 2016. It is housed in the main hall of the Tbilisi City Hall, as an extension of the City Hall services already being provided. Both centres were set up with the support of INOGATE , the longest running energy technical assistance programme funded by the EU.

    Expert Groups dicuss STI Cooperation in Energy between the EU and Central Asian / Eastern Partnership Countries

    The EU funded IncoNet CA and IncoNet EaP projects successfully conducted two Expert Group Meetings in Athens in order to discuss the outcomes of the Energy-related activities of the projects and provide recommendations for the future of EU-Central Asia and EU-Eastern Partnership cooperation in Energy Research. The meetings were organised as part of a series of events intended to evaluate the outcomes of  activities in the three topics addressed by the projects: 'Health', 'Climate Change' and 'Energy'. The upcoming Expert Group Meetings on Health and Climate Change will take place in Bonn, Germany, on 17-20 May 2016.

    The INNOVER-EAST project invites those active in innovation (research institutes, universities, etc.) to take part in a Brokerage Event on Energy Efficiency and Energy taking place in Minsk on 12 May 2016. The event is geared towards players offering innovative solutions for energy efficiency problems, SMEs, other businesses and organisations seeking such solutions or applying research results in their daily business activities, intermediaries, e.g. chambers of commerce and Industry, Enterprise Europe Network, and similar organisations from Belarus, EU and Eastern Partnership countries.

    Policy Stakeholders Conference on ‘EU-Central Asia STI Cooperation in Addressing Health’

    The Conference will provide the opportunity for an in-depth exchange of views among high-level policymakers, representatives of the research communities in the EU/MS AC and the CA countries, as well as other key stakeholders active in the region on regional and international policies, research programmes and projects addressing Health. The aim of the Conference is to increase synergies among stakeholders and actions as well as to shape future cooperative initiatives addressing Health.

    Grant Scheme to facilitate the participation of EaP countries in Brokerage Events - apply now!

    This grant scheme financially supports the participation of local researchers from Eastern Partnership countries in brokerage events related to Horizon2020 in the EU Member States or Associated Countries. The thematic priorities of the call are the three Societal Challenges targeted by the projects, namely 'Health', 'Energy' and 'Climate Change'. Maximun funding per grant is 3000 EUR.

    Joint Call for Proposals by CNRS (France) and SRNSF (Georgia)

    On 18 April 2016, the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) and Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation (SRNSF) announced a joint call for proposals in the frame of 'International Programme for Scientific Cooperation' (PICS). PICS is a joint research programme aimed at supporting joint research projects carried out by two teams, one from CNRS and one from another country. Funding required by the cooperation to support exchanges comes from both partners.

    The EL-CSID project analyses the relevance of cultural, science and innovation diplomacy for EU external relations, locating developments in these fields in the evolving global context. Cultural and science diplomacy have played an increasing role in the European diplomatic story in recent years, and the European Union has made a major start articulating the relevance of cultural and science for its external relations. Among the project partners is the Graduate School of Public Policy at Nazarbayev University, Kazakhstan.
