    EaP Index 2014 shows mixed results on the way to European integration

    The new 2014 edition of the 'The European Integration Index for Eastern Partnership Countries' has been published. Measuring annual trajectory of the Eastern Partnership countries towards the European integration, the 2014 edition shows a mixed set of results for the six Eastern partner countries: Moldova and to an even greater degree Georgia continued steady progress in integration with the EU; Armenia and Ukraine experienced a stop-and-start trajectory, and a range of internal and external challenges.

    Ukraine signs Association Agreement to Horizon 2020

    Researchers, businesses and innovators from Ukraine will now be able to fully participate in Horizon 2020, the European Union's research and innovation funding programme, on equal terms with EU Member States and other associated countries. This is thanks to the Agreement for the Association of Ukraine to Horizon 2020, signed today in Kyiv by Carlos Moedas, European Commissioner for Research, Science and Innovation, and Serhiy Kvit, Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine.

    Workshop on 'Regenerative Medicine for Lifelong Health and Wellbeing'

    This workshop is organised under the Al-Farabi Partnership Programme, which encourages international collaboration between researchers from the UK and Kazakhstan. The event will focus on the interface between regenerative medicine/tissue engineering, and the biology of ageing and age-related diseases. It will explore both how regenerative medicine approaches can be applied to the diseases and degenerations of later life.

    CREMLIN – Connecting Russian and European Measures for Large-scale Research Infrastructures

    The European Commission has given the green light for a new collaborative project under Horizon 2020: The three-year project CREMLIN (Connecting Russian and European Measures for Large-scale Research Infrastructures) will create stronger links between European and Russian research institutions in the area of large-scale facilities and enable a more intensive STI cooperation.  While Russia participates in European research facilities such as the European XFEL, FAIR, ESRF or the LHC experiments at CERN, CREMLIN should also support EU scientists to become engaged in major Russian projects. The project is to be launched in autumn 2015.
