    Scholarships in Poland for Young Scientists from Eastern Europe, Russia, Central Asia and the Caucasus

    The Polish government grants scholarships to young scientists for a research stay at Polish universities from September 2016 till June 2017. The programme is dedicated to citizens of: Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia. Candidates have to have a Bachelor or Master diploma in humanities or social sciences. Knowledge of the Polish language is also required in order to be able to understand the lectures.

    AAAS-TWAS Course on Science Diplomacy 2016 – apply until 4 March 2016

    Given the growing role of science and technology in international relations, the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), Washington DC, USA, and The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS), Trieste, Italy, formed a partnership in 2011 focused on science diplomacy and engagement between the North and the South. Part of this initiative includes this annual short-course on science diplomacy. This year's event will be held in Trieste, Italy, from 11 to 16 July 2016. The application deadline is 4 March 2016.     5th Conference on HIV/AIDS in Eastern Europe and Central Asia

    The HIV epidemic continues to grow. Despite the efforts of the countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia (EECA) to contain it at the concentrated stage, the infection is starting to go beyond the most vulnerable groups to the general population. This trend gravely endangers the demographic situation and economic development. The 5th Eastern Europe and Central Asia AIDS Conference (EECAAC-2016) aims at extending its scope by engaging BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) and strengthening the scientific vector, as BRICS countries have extensive experience in containing the epidemic and reducing its pace.

    Symposium on Agricultural Transitions along the Silk Road: Restructuring, Resources and Trade in the Central Asia Region

    The Leibniz Institute of Agricultural Development in Transition Economies (IAMO), Kazakh National Agrarian University (KazNAU) and the International Association of Agricultural Economists (IAAE) have announced the IAAE Inter-Conference Symposium 'Agricultural Transitions along the Silk Road: Restructuring, Resources and Trade in the Central Asia Region' to be held in KazNAU, Almaty, Kazakhstan, 4–6 April 2016. The aim of this IAAE Inter-Conference Symposium is to provide a platform for knowledge exchange, discussion and networking that revives the traditional role of the Silk Road.

    German Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) supports German Research Institutions and SMEs in cooperation with Central Asia and the South Caucasus

    The call covers health care, food security and water supply and is open to universities, reséarch organisations and SMEs in Germany who can jointly apply with their partner institutions from Central Asia and the South Caucasus. Funded will be pilot measures for research partnerships suited to enhance the internationalisation of research, promote innovation, utilise local know-how or prepare joint participation in other programms.     IraSME Call open to Russian participation

    The 17th IraSME call is organised and funded by national & regional ministries & agencies participating in the IraSME network through their existing funding programmes. Therefore it is important for all candidate project partners to consult in an early stage with their respective agencies during the preparation of the proposal to secure compliance with the applicable national and regional criteria. Russia: Only small enterprises (< 100 employees) are eligible, research organisations only as subcontractors.

    Ideal-ist 2018 – Transnational Cooperation among ICT NCPs

    Ideal-ist is an international ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) network, with more than 65 ICT national partners from EU and Non-EU Countries, including Eastern European Partner Countries. The network has been active under various projects since 1996, thus accumulating a wealth of experience. The current project 'Ideal-ist 2018' especially focusses on helping less experienced NCPs from Member States (MS) and Associated Countries (AC) to access the know-how accumulated in other countries and to apply it in a locally relevant and efficient manner.
