    1st 'State of the Energy Union Report' published

    The 'State of the Energy Union Report', published for the first time on 18 November, shows that progress has been made since the adoption of the Energy Union Framework Strategy nine months ago. On climate change, the report highlights Europe's contribution to the Paris negotiations. At this stage, more than 160 countries representing more than 90% of global emissions have presented their contributions to the Paris Agreement. The EU submitted in this process a binding domestic economy-wide emissions reduction target of at least 40% by 2030 compared to 1990 levels.

    Russian version of Networking Guide for International R&D Projects

    The first edtion of this Networking Guide has widely been used by researchers not only from Russia, but also from other countries in Eastern Europe, in the EU and worldwide. It has served educational purposes at universities and in trainings on the participation in international research projects. The second edition, which has recently been published by the EU funded 'BILAT-RUS Advanced' project, is now also available in Russian.

    The Sustainable Innovation Forum is an annual event brought to you by Climate Action & UNEP. It is one of the largest side events held during the annual Conference of Parties (COP). COP21, also known as the 2015 Paris Climate Conference, will aim to achieve a legally binding agreement on climate, with the aim of keeping global warming below 2°C.     Norway-Russia: NOK 20 million to new research and innovation in the High North

    The NORRUSS programme will contribute to the knowledge-building in Norway on Russia and on the High North. The programme, which is applicable to Norwegian research institutions, seeks to promote cooperation with leading researchers and institutions at an international level and thus contribute to the internationalisation of research. The programme will encourage interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research where appropriate. Both basic research and applied research will be important and combined macro and micro-level studies can be useful.

    EASME Call for proposals 'Projects in the context of the Integrated Maritime Policy in the Black Sea and/or Mediterranean Sea regions'

    This call for proposals by the EU's Executive Agency for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (EASME) is set to award grants for projects that will aim at supporting concrete Integrated Maritime Policy approaches and initiatives, and promoting job creation, innovation and entrepreneurship in the blue economy of the Black Sea and/or Mediterranean Sea. Potential project partners from Georgia, Moldova, Russia, and Ukraine may be eligible under certain conditions.

    VI-SEEM – Virtual Research Environment for Regional Interdisciplinary Communities in Southeast Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean

    The overall objective of this project is to provide user-friendly integrated e-Infrastructure platform for regional cross-border Scientific Communities in Climatology, Life Sciences, and Cultural Heritage for the South East Europe/ Eatsern Mediterranean (SEEM) region; by linking compute, data, and visualisation resources, as well as services, models, software and tools. The consortium comprises partners from several EU countries as well as from Armenia, Georgia, Moldova and other non-EU countries in the region.
