    Clima East project brings EaP countries together for climate change meeting with EU and Latvian officials

    The EU-funded Clima East project, which helps Eastern Partnership countries to be better prepared to deal with climate change impacts, held a meeting in Riga last week to discuss ongoing UN negotiations on climate change. The two-day meeting was attended by representatives of the ministries dealing with Climate Change from the six EaP countries as well as officials from Latvia and the European Commission’s Directorate General for Climate Action.

    BILAT-UKR*AINA projects completes its activities

    Today is the last day of the BILAT-UKR*AINA project (Enhancing the BILATeral S&T Partnership with UKRraine * Advanced INnovative Approach), which has supported research, technology and innovation cooperation between the EU and Ukraine since 2012. The project was based on existing cooperation of the main stakeholders and built up on the results of previous projects funded under FP7 dealing with Ukraine, in particular BILAT-UKR (2008-2012).

    Eastern Partnership Regional Info Day on Horizon 2020 with a focus on Energy & Environment

    On 6 July 2015, the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia will be hosting an Information Day on Horizon 2020 open to all the researchers and stakeholders. The Info Day will cover a general overview of Horizon 2020, and in addition will provide specific information on the opportunities for Eastern Partnership Countries (EaP) with a special focus on Energy & Environment. The Info day will be followed by a workshop targeted at NCPs to inform researchers and local National Contact Points from across the EaP on how to write a successful European proposal as well as on the technical and financial management of EU funded projects (7 July 2015).

    Webinar Series on Horizon 2020 and related Calls

    A webinar on 'Individual Fellowships' under the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) programme on 7 July (2pm CEST) will be the 2nd in a series of 15 Black Sea Horizon project webinars providing information and good practices about Horizon 2020 in general and on specific calls launched thereunder in particular with potential for bi-regional cooperation. The goal of the webinars is to promote and enhance the participation of researchers from academia and industry from the Black Sea countries in Horizon 2020.

    Eastern Partnership Secondment Programme

    The European Investment Bank is launching its Eastern Partnership Secondment Programme for professionals from both the public and private sectors. The Programme, set up with support by the EIB’s Eastern Partnership Trust Fund (EPTATF), is only open to nationals of the Eastern Partnership Countries that have entered into a Framework Agreement with the EIB (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine) and work in Ministries, Central Banks, other public sector organisations or private sector entities in these countries.

    Ukraine Biorisk Management Enhancement Grant Competition

    The Biorisk Management Enhancement Grant (BMEG) competition program aims to improve biosecurity, biosafety and biorisk management procedures and knowledge. It strives to increase biorisk management awareness and its importance in safeguarding science in the Ukraine. Grant awards, each up to $15,000 USD, will be made in support of projects that must be completed within six months from the date a project agreement is signed.

    UKRAINE – UKraine Replication, Awareness and INnovation based on EGNSS

    The primary objective of the UKRAINE project is to create a broad acceptance of EGNSS (European Global Navigation Satellite Systems) in Ukraine, leading to increasing adoption of Galileo and EGNOS (European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service) in this rapidly emerging market. The project aims to foster international cooperation in application development while simultaneously creating physical opportunities for knowledge building and commercial relationships. The project was established in January 2015. A unique contest to develop a multi-constellation receiver for release on the Ukrainian market was launched in April 2015.
