European Sustainable Energy Week in Ukraine
The European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) will be held in Ukraine from 22-30 June 2013 (main events 24-28 June). Ambassador Jan Tombinski, Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine and Volodymyr Deboy, mayor of the host city Zhytomyr, will present the programme. As a countrywide initiative, the EUSEW will embrace topical activities, seminars, exhibitions, press-tours and workshops in different Ukrainian cities.
The European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) is an initiative of the European Commission that first took place in 2006. It is a part of the Sustainable Energy Europe Campaign, which aims to achieve the EU’s energy policy targets within the areas of renewable energy and energy efficiency.
EUSEW showcases activities dedicated to energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions. It is designed to spread best practices, inspire new ideas and build alliances to help meet the EU’s energy and climate goals. It is designed to demonstrate to businesses, decision-makers and the wider public that sustainable energy technologies are viable, cost-effective and good for the environment.
The
Official Opening will be held in Zhytomyr on June 24, 2023 in Gagarin Park of Culture and Entertainment. Other activities will take place throughout Ukraine.
The overall campaign will be focused around two main issues:
- Personal responsibility of each citizen for the efficient use of energy resources;
- EU-Ukraine cooperation in implementing energy-efficiency projects.
