Seminar “International cooperation in ICT sphere between EU and Central Asia countries”

On May 17th, 2010 a seminar on “International cooperation in ICT sphere between EU and Central Asia countries” was held in Tashkent. The seminar was attended by the experts of the project ISTOK-SOYUZ of the Seventh Framework Program Svetlana Mari Kler Klesova, director of INNO AG company (France)and Nikolay Pakulin, scientific officer of The Institute of System Programming of Academy of Science of the Russian Federation.
From the Uzbek side the seminar was organized by the Association of Information Technologies companies and the organizations of Uzbekistan. In the seminar there were 45 representatives of scientific and technical universities, education institutes, the private and state organizations which are working in ICT sphere. In the seminar it was presented information about the primary goals of the international cooperation of EU in ICT sphere, an overall aim of the project, also revealing of new opportunities of cooperation in the ICT field between EU and Eastern Europe and the Central Asia countries.
           
In addition it was presented the overview of the Seventh Framework Program, which is the basic instrument for the creation of " the European research area » ERA, ICT work program, ICT  structure  in the Framework Program, extensive and trusted networks and an infrastructure of services, tasks and expected results. After presentation there were organized the round table, where it was discussions regarding the definition of priorities for mutual cooperation.

 After the seminar the experts from the project ISTOK_SOYUZ of FP7 met with the participants of the IncoNet EECA of FP7, where they discussed the issues for further development of cooperation in ICT sphere between EU scientific communities, Eastern Europe and Central Asia countries in the EU Seventh Framework Program.
