Belarus and Czech Republic to create joint innovation center

The Belarusian-Czech Innovation Center will facilitate the development of innovative activities in both countries and transfer of new technologies in manufacture. The companies of Belarus and Czech Republic will be able to use the Center’s services for joint R&D and promotion of high- tech products in foreign markets.

The Center will take part in creation of joint Belarusian-Czech companies for technology commercialization, mastering S&T developments and rendering assistance in attracting of foreign investments for joint projects.
The establishment of the Center was discussed by Igor Voitov, Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology of Belarus and Pavel Sveida, Secretary General of Innovation Commission of the Czech Republic at the recent meeting in Minsk. The parties have discussed cooperation in S&T information exchange and attraction of investments in Belarus for the development of new technologies. In addition, the parties considered the prospects of joint ventures. The Center is to assist in their establishment.

The project on the creation of the Innovation Center will be implemented in conformity with the protocol of the first session of the Belarusian-Czech Joint Commission for Economic, Industrial and S&T Cooperation signed in April 2009.
