UNIDO plans to expand cooperation with Belarus in innovation area

“UN Development Organization plans to expand cooperation with Belarus in innovation area,” – Vladimir Kozharnovich, Coordinator of UNIDO program activities informed on 17 November, 2009 in the plenary session at the I Belarusian Innovation Forum held in Minsk on 17-18 November 2009.

“Earlier, we took part in creation of the technology transfer system in Belarus – a center is engaged in transfer of innovations on internal and external markets, - the expert has reminded. - The cooperation between UNIDO and Belarus will be continued, the decision on creation in Minsk of the office for promoting technologies and investments has been taken”.

Vladimir Kozharnovich has not specified the terms of the new project. However, he has informed that “most likely, the new office will work under one roof with the Republican Centre of Technology Transfer”. “Their tasks overlap to some extent. At the same time the new structure will concentrate more efforts on creation of mechanisms for attracting and mastering investments in Belarus”, - he has told.

The expert has noted also that Belarusian experience on creation of the national system of technology transfer is being adopted at the moment by the other countries. “The project became some kind of a model in our organization, - he has told. - The countries which address to us to get a technical support for creation of a centre of technology transfer, innovation centre, national technological or regional centre, ask us to make it like in Belarus”.
 
The Republican Centre of Technology Transfer in Belarus transfers domestic scientific achievements. The Centre cooperates with companies and organizations from 20 countries of the world within more than 50 agreements on cooperation.
