Belarus: first ultra-light unmanned reconnaissance aircraft
Scientists of the physical-technical institute of the academy of sciences of Belarus developed the first unmanned flying vehicle, based on a ultra-light unmanned plane, which was designed for video surveillance of buildings and areas. Due to the fact, that the plane is made from fibre composite plastics the plane weights 2200 grams only. The plane is equipped with a video camera and can be operated manually in a range of 20 km around its base. The maximum speed is 60 km/h. The plane is equipped with an electrical engine and does not emit any noise.
As the next step the scientist plan to develop an unmanned plane with a weight of 10 kg and a wingspread of 2,2 meters.
