The Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) together with the Russian Ministry of Science and Education, the European Commission and the Technical University in Moscow (MISIS) is organising the 4th EU-Russian Open Days in Vienna on October 24th -25th, 2011. The Event will have thematic focus on:
Solar Terrestrial Research
Earthquake and space weather have a great influence on the earth-climate changes as well as on operation of our modern technical systems (telecommunication, satellite, navigation, electrical power systems etc.). Precise understanding and knowledge on these phenomena are of common interest. The research and forecast of earthquake and space weather demonstrate the necessity of their multi-disciplinary investigations and strengthening of wide international cooperation.
The aims of discussion:
In the last decades Russia and Europe have invested a lot into these scientific fields - fundamental and applied research as well as into the establishment of large research infrastructures to advance the innovation process.
It is now time to bundle expertise and to develop common visions for future research and technology collaboration.
The aim of the workshop is to bring together:
Managers of large scale infrastructure for nanotechnology and material sciences
The workshop will offer time and space to discuss plans for future RTD cooperation and to sketch common visions on the collaboration potential.
