This event is organised by the International Association for Political Science Students (IAPSS). IAPSS is the worldwide representation of students of political science and related studies. It strives to deliver a sustainable academic contribution to the education of its members, to foster exchange among young political scientists across the globe and to promote social and scientific responsibility.  IAPSS embraces approximately 1,000 individual members and 10 association members from all over the world. The Association – founded in 1998 in Leiden (the Netherlands) – is exclusively student-led, non-profit orientated and politically independent. The IAPSS Headquarters is located in Nijmegen (the Netherlands) – hosted and supported by Radboud University Nijmegen, IAPSS’ premium partner and itself a leading institution in the political science arena in Europe.

A large variety of questions will dominate this year’s summer school in order to understand the political processes in Ukraine nowadays: What events have shaped memory construction processes in today’s Ukraine? Can Ukraine be seen as a bone of contention between Russia and the EU? How can we classify social movements in recent history such as the Orange Revolution? What is the EU’s role in democratization processes in Ukraine?

The covered topics of the summer school are as follows:

  1. Identity, Memory and Narratives
  2. Europeanisation and Political Conditionality
  3. Geopolitical Challenges
  4. Social Movements

Deadline for Application: 25 May 2016
