National Space Program for 2008-2012 ratified

The Government of Belarus has ratified the National Program for Research and Using the Space in Peaceful Purposes for 2008-2012 (National Space Program). The basic tasks of the Program include the development of space vehicles of remote sensing of the Earth and perspective technologies of space engineering. The ground infrastructure for reception, processing and distribution of the space information and management of space vehicles will be created. It is planned also to develop information space technologies and to introduce them in various spheres of social and economic activities.

 It was approved by Regulation of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus No.1517 of 14 October 2008. The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus is the state customer and coordinator of the National Space Program.
