The key task of the Council for the coming future is development of the International Programme of CIS Cooperation in Innovation Area till 2020. This Programme has to become the main CIS anti-crisis public project and should be worked out still in 2010 which was announced to be a year of science and innovations in the Commonwealth.
The participants of the meeting discussed the structure and activities of the Council and presented national reports on the state of science and innovations in their countries.
At the meeting, the representatives of Armenia, Belarus, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Ukraine and CIS Executive Committee took part. The International Council for Cooperation in Science, Technologies and Innovation Areas deals with the issues of the common S&T and innovation area, and also defines thematic priorities and forms of cooperation in S&T and innovation spheres. Its activities are aimed at coordination of S&T and innovation policies of the member states, as well as at creation of financial and economic mechanisms for support of joint programs and projects.
The next meeting of the Council is scheduled for June 2010.
