    3rd Call: Grants for networking in Brokerage Events or Preparatory Meetings – apply now!

    The EaP PLUS Team announces the 3rd and last round of the Call for ‘Grants for networking’ in Brokerage Events or Preparatory Meetings. The grants for networking financially support the participation of local researchers from Eastern Partnership countries in Brokerage Events related to Horizon2020 and Preparatory Meetings for the development of H2020 project proposals. The 3rd round of the scheme continues to give special priority to applications concerning SPIRE calls which are explicitly encouraging participation from EaP countries.

    Submit your COST Action proposal until 29 November 2023

    COST invites proposals for Actions aiming at contributing to the scientific, technological, economic, cultural or societal knowledge advancement and development of Europe. COST does not fund research itself, but supports networking via different tools such as meetings, short term scientific missions, training schools and dissemination activities. Multi- and interdisciplinary proposals are encouraged. Among others, the list of COST eligible countries includes Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Russia, and Ukraine.

    Newton – Al-Farabi Partnership Programme

    The Newton – Al-Farabi Partnership Programme is a five-year, £20 million joint programme launched in 2014 by the UK Government and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Each side will provide equal funding. The programme forms part of the Newton Fund, a £375 million fund administered by the UK’s Department for Business, Innovation and Skills. The Newton Fund is part of the UK’s Official Development Assistance (ODA) commitment. Through the Fund, the UK will use its strength in research and innovation to promote the economic development and social welfare of partner countries.

    Humboldt Research Fellowships for Experienced Researchers

    Scientists and scholars of all nationalities and disciplines may apply to the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation directly at any time. The Humboldt Foundation grants approximately 600 Humboldt Research Fellowships for postdoctoral researchers and experienced researchers annually. Short-term study visits, participation in congresses and training courses cannot be financed.

    Gerda Henkel Foundation: Central Asia Programme now integrated into the Foundation's regular grant programme

    From 2004 to 2013, the Gerda Henkel Foundation offered a programme to support outstanding scholars whose research is focused on Central Asia, mainly on Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Northern Afghanistan, Southern Siberia, Tadzhikistan, Tibet, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Xinjiang. After 10 years of existence, the Special Programme Central Asia, after a last deadline in the end of June 2013, has been integrated into the Foundation's regular grant programme. Applications from researchers from Central Asia or topics related to Central Asian history will now be considered within the Foundation's Research and PhD Grant Programme.

    Continuous joint competitions of the Russian Foundation for Basic research (RFBR) and Austrian Science Fund (FWF)

    The Russian Foundation for Basic Research (RFBR), in accordance with the Memorandum on Cooperation with the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) conducts continuous competitions (with no time limits for submitting the applications during the validity period of Memorandum). The aim of the competition is to grant financial support for initiative research projects being conducted by Russian and Austrian scientists.
