incrEAST предоставляет информацию о направлениях и целях международного сотрудничества в области науки и технологий между Узбекистаном, странами ВЕСА, членами Евросоюза и ассоциированными странами и обеспечивает развивающуюся сеть для поддержки сотрудничества.

Scope and objectives

The legislative basis of International S&T cooperation of the Republic of Uzbekistan included more than 50 Intergovernmental agreements. Development of international scientific links is stipulated by necessity of support of scientific researches carried out in the country, creation of favorable conditions for bringing of Uzbekistan to the world scientific and technological community.

Co-operation with EECA-countries

Cooperation with EECA-countries is carried out within the framework of the bilateral and multilateral scientific and technical programs. For example, in 2007 two Collaborative Calls for fundamental research project implemented in the framework of programs “Uzbekistan-Russia 2008” and “Uzbekistan -Ukraine 2008”. The multilateral cooperation with EECA-countries is carried out within programs of INTAS, INCO FP6/FP7, STCU, CRDF, etc.

Co-operation with EU-member states and associated countries

Partnership links have been established with the ministries & agencies of most of the EU counties and international foundations supporting S&T co-operation. Uzbek scientists participate in collaborative programmes with EU and other countries, in the calls of INTAS, INCO (previously), Science Committee of NATO, Science and Technology Centre in Ukraine (STCU) and others.

EU-funded co-operation/ projects

During 2007 Uzbek scientists have participated in following international projects:
NATO – 20 projects on total funds of 1 037 000 EURO, STCU – 36 projects on total funds of 5 730 000 EURO, INTAS – 30 projects on total funds of 821 000 EURO and other 9 projects on total funds of 1 428 000 EURO.

Further co-operations

Creation of maximum favorable economic and legal conditions for increase of efficiency of fundamental and applied research, design work and innovative activities promoting renewal of branches of economy, increase of theirs efficiency in traduce of a new level of energy saving and protection of environment are is the basis of state scientific and technical policy of the country.
