Two new 'Marie Curie' calls foster researcher mobility between the EU and third countries

The European Commission has just published two new calls under the 'Marie Curie' scheme:

Call for proposals for 'Marie Curie International Incoming Fellowships (IIF)'

The European Commission has published a call for proposals for 'Marie Curie International Incoming Fellowships (IIF)'. This call aims to encourage cooperation from Member States and Associated Countries with their peers from third countries.

The principal objective is to reinforce the research excellence of the Member States and the Associated Countries through knowledge sharing within a research project in Europe, as well as develop mutually beneficial research co-operation with third countries.

These international projects will constitute nuclei for future research relations at international level. All fields of research of interest to the European Union are eligible for funding, except those covered by the Euratom Treaty.

Call for proposals for 'Marie Curie International Outgoing Fellowships for Career Development (IOF)'

The European Commission has published a call for proposals for 'Marie Curie International Outgoing Fellowships for Career Development.' Described in the 2013 People Work Programme, this initiative aims to reinforce the international dimension of European researchers' careers.

It provides them with the opportunity to be trained and acquire new knowledge with a one to two-year experience in a high-level research organisation established in a Third Country, after which these researchers are expected to return and use their newly acquired knowledge and experience in a Member State or Associated Country.

Individual researchers, along with their host organisation in a Member State or Associated Country, shall submit a coherent research training project for the total duration of the contract. The fellowship is expected to be part of a structured, long-term personal career development plan that is coherent with past achievements and clearly defines the future aims of the researcher.
