New document outlines current developments in EU-Russia innovation cooperation
The First EU-Russia Innovation Forum was held in Lappeenranta (Finland) on 25-27th May 2010. Pro-Inno Europe has developed a summary of the conclusions from the recent forum and the preceding workshops held in Antwerp and Saint-Petersburg, which were published in July this year.
The summary includes policy recommendations for EU-Russia cooperation on innovation. Specifically, key initiatives with regard to the EU-Russia Modernisation Partnership and innovation cooperation followed by a number of cross-cutting activities were decided upon, including the following:
- modernising Russian companies;
- visa-freedom;
- energy efficiency projects;
- engaging Russia in the EU Digital Agenda;
- making innovation policy as top priority in the EU-Russia partnership;
- creating a common research and innovation environment;
- enhancing innovation support mechanisms; or
- establishing of a joint innovative actions funded by the EU and Russia.
