Belarus and Moldova will implement 19 joint research projects by end-2011

Belarusian Republican Foundation for Fundamental Research (BRFFR) and the Academy of Sciences of Moldova (ASM) are supporting 19 joint research projects from 1 April 2010 to 31 December 2011.

The projects were selected and approved for financing during the recent call for proposals jointly carried out by BRFFR and ASM. The call has been organized for the second time in line with the agreement on cooperation signed by the two parties on 3 May 2007.

The thematic areas of the call were quite wide and included such topics as

  • using the human, material and information resources for sustainable development;
  • biomedicine, pharmaceutics, health promotion;
  • agricultural biotechnologies, soil quality and food supply security;
  • nanotechnologies, industrial engineering, new materials;
  • energy efficiency and security.

The projects presented to the call correspond to the top-priority areas of the basic research in Belarus and Moldova and are able to make a considerable contribution in expanding and deepening of the scientific knowledge.
