The PROMITHEAS Conference started as an activity of the FP6 funded project titled “PROMITHEAS-2 and has become an annual meeting for scientists and researchers working in energy and climate change policy issues. The 1st PROMITHEAS Conference titled “Energy Investments and Trade Opportunities was a two-day event with two types of sessions, political and scientific, that took place in 2008. The 2nd and 3rd PROMITHEAS Conferences titled “Energy and Climate Change were also two-day events, but included only scientific sessions. More than one hundred (100) abstracts were submitted for the last year event, while approximately seventy (70) of them were accepted for presentation.
The PROMITHEAS Net has 26 members, including partners from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.
All events were hosted by the oldest university of Greece, the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA); organized by the Energy Policy and Development Centre (KEPA) of the NKUA, coordinator of the PROMITHEAS Network and set under the auspices of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) Organization.
This year the 4th International Scientific Conference titled “Energy and Climate Change of the PROMITHEAS Net will take place at the premises of NKUA on October 13-14, 2011 in Athens, Greece. The event is asked to be set under the auspices of BSEC.
