According to Clima East, the adaptation to climate change and management of climate change risks is considered a challenge for Armenia’s development. This has been proved by several studies conducted by UN and the World Bank that highlighted the urgency of the adaptation and called for proper consideration of adaptation in the country’s strategic planning documents and funding anticipatory measures for adaptation and risk reduction.
The Clima East project supports climate change mitigation and adaptation in the Eastern Partnership countries and Russia. More specifically, it aims to foster improved climate change policies, strategies and market mechanisms more in line with the EU acquis in the partner countries, by supporting regional cooperation and improving access to information regarding EU climate change policies and acquis.
