International Advanced Research Workshop “Modern Problems in Optics & Photonics” in Yerevan

The Workshop dedicated to the 90th Anniversary of the Yerevan State University will be held in Yerevan, Armenia on 27 August - 2 September 2009, at the Department of Physics of Yerevan State University. Part of the workshop will be also held in the Institute for Physical Research of National Academy of Sciences of Armenia, in Ashtarak.
The purpose of this Workshop is to provide a good opportunity for experts working in optics and photonics, to discuss the latest results, to stimulate interdisciplinary exchanges and to consider the prospects of new applications. It will bring together experienced and young scientists working on various aspects of optics and photonics, to discuss the most recent developments in that area. Students will have opportunity to present their research both oral and poster presentations.

The workshop program will cover all aspects of optics and photonics with focus on new and exciting developments and results in physics of coherent light sources, photonic crystals and metamaterials, biophotonics, linear and non-linear optics, modeling of complex systems, quantum optics & quantum information, atomic spectroscopy, laser instrumentation and crystal growth.
