All Armenian E- Content Contest 2008

The aim of the contest was to explore the achievements of Armenia in the field of E-content in 2007-2008, reach excellence in their creation and distribution and to create a firm base for the Armenian producers in order to present their production and achievements at international arena. It is already the 3rd time that such contest is organized in Armenia and this continuousness is provided first of all by the fact that this contest grants Armenians the opportunity to get familiar with and evaluate their potential in the field of Information Technologies. The winners of the last two contests got the opportunity to be represented at the World Summit Awards in Geneva in 2003 and Tunis in 2005, where the Armenian delegation had won 3 world awards.

In 2003, Armenia won the primer prize in “E- Science” nomination in Geneva. The Head of The Cosmic Ray Division of the Yerevan Physics Institute, Ashot Chiligaryan was honored with this prize. In 2005, in Tunis, at the WSA, “Aram Khachaturyan: Life and Creative Work” CD/DVD created by “ITE” company’s “Multiweb” studio was recognized by the Main Jury as the best cultural multimedia production of 2005. Another work of this company was honored with special prize and found place in the best ten works of “E-Study” nomination. This successful participation in WSA, by no means, opened up great perspectives for Armenia.

The contest of 2008 was conducted according to the 8 nominations prescribed by WSA:

  • E-Study
  • E-Science
  • E-Healthcare
  • E-Culture
  • E-Entertainment
  • E-Business
  • E-Management and
  • E-Involvement.

As in the previous years, the winners of the contest are the first 16 works that have the highest points, as well as the first two works recognized the best in their nominations. The first place winners are honored with financial prizes and the second place winners get opportunity to participate in WSA.
