The Centre for German and European Studies (St. Petersburg State University—Bielefeld University) together with the Council of Young Scientists of the Faculty of Sociology (St. Petersburg State University) invite submissions to a Russian- European competition of research papers by junior scientists focusing on Russian society and culture. The papers (unpublished as well as recently published) should address topical issues in social sciences and humanities.

The competition final will take place in November 2016. Finalists will present their papers in English to the jury.
Finalists will take part in the international seminar on paper preparation and publication in international scientific journals under the guidance of a European instructor.
Winners will receive a prize of up to 1,275 Euro to take a research trip to Europe (Russian participants) or to Russia (participants from Europe) in early 2017 to collect empirical data and to develop the research.
Elaborated papers presenting the results of the empirical studies will be published in CGES Working Papers series in 2017 (international online periodical edition, more details here).
