Research Structure

On this page, incrEAST provides an overview of the research and technology potential of Tajikistan.
Regular scientific research work in Tajikistan was started at the end of the 1920th and the beginning of the 1930th. These works were carried out by the scientists of the Academy of Sciences of USSR in the form of realization of complex expeditions. The tasks of these expeditions included: to study the history and culture of Tajik people, to investigate the natural resources of the Republic, to set up the research centres, and to train scientific staff of the Republic.

These expeditions, included geographers, geologists, botanists, zoologists, geodesists, economists and other specialists, collected a huge primary material which afterwards served as a basis to systematic and purposeful scientific research.
