By offering extensive information on Eastern Europe and Central Asia, the website supports two objectives of the EU’s 7th Research Framework Programme: expanding the European Research Area and intensifying cooperation with third countries. The main focus is on information about scientific and research policy cooperation between EU Member States, Associated States, and those countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia that are to be systematically integrated in the European Research Area as part of the new EU project IncoNet EECA (www.inco-eeca.net): Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.

Users can also subscribe to an e-newsletter containing relevant and up-to-date news.
Another way in which the incrEAST website presents EU activities with third countries is the “Project of the Month” section (http://www.increast.eu/en/214.php#Projects_of_the_month). Every month, a new EU project is presented in a prominent position on the website and subsequently moved to a project archive that can be accessed at any time.
A new database of key institutions in EECA countries (http://www.increast.eu/en/523.php) was launched in July. The information is collected from partners in connection with five EU projects (IncoNet EECA, BILAT-RUS, BILAT-UKR, ERA.NET RUS and BS ERA-Net) Links hinterlegen. Users can search by country, scientific field and/or type of institution. They can then generate a PDF containing the customized information they requested. At http://www.increast.eu/en/448.php, there is a list of potential host institutions in EECA countries for EU researchers, which is designed to simplify the search for suitable partners.
IncrEAST offers all users the opportunity to actively participate in the exchange of information. Submission forms are available at http://www.increast.eu/en/107.php.
